Store region and purchasing account
The apps shown in the App Store depend on the country or region of the Apple ID used for Media & Purchases, not the device’s interface language. Shadowrocket isn’t available in the mainland China App Store. If it doesn’t appear in search results, check the account’s store region and status first. Trying different search terms won’t change what’s available in the current storefront.
The button on this page links to the US storefront listing for app ID 932747118. The us in the URL identifies the web storefront; it doesn’t change your Apple ID’s country or region. Seeing the app on the web doesn’t guarantee that your account can purchase it. After opening the App Store, rely on the messages, price, and purchase button shown there.
How to check your country or region
- Open Settings on your device and tap your Apple ID at the top.
- Tap Media & Purchases, then View Account. Complete any verification steps requested by the system.
- Open Country/Region to check the current setting. To change it, use the Change Country or Region option on that page and review each prompt.
The wording and location of these options may vary slightly between system versions; follow what appears on your device. Changing regions may involve conditions related to your account balance, active subscriptions, Family Sharing, payment method, and billing details. Apple’s account process determines whether a change is allowed. These steps explain where to check; they don’t guarantee a change will succeed. Don’t enter false account information to proceed.
Also distinguish your device’s signed-in account from your purchasing account: the account used to sync device data may differ from the one used for Media & Purchases. Confirm the latter before buying to make it easier to find your purchase history when you change devices. If the store says your account is restricted or asks you to verify payment, resolve that prompt before returning to the product page. There’s no need to troubleshoot inside the app.
Verify the developer, icon, and app ID
Shadowrocket is sometimes called “Little Rocket” in Chinese-language contexts. That nickname isn’t a reliable way to identify the app: similar names, colors, or descriptions in search results aren’t proof. Before purchasing, open the product page and check the developer, official icon, and app ID together instead of relying on the first search result.
Shadowrocket
Developer: Shadow Launch Technology Limited
App ID: 932747118
- Check the developer. The developer listed on the App Store product page should be Shadow Launch Technology Limited. Make sure the name matches exactly; don’t mistake a name mentioned in the description for the actual developer.
- Check the official icon. It’s a rocket with a blue-violet outline on a white background, matching the official icon above. An icon with similar colors but different lines, background, or subject shouldn’t be assumed to represent the same app.
- Check the app ID. The product link on this page ends in
id932747118. App names can be similar, but the app ID helps distinguish listings. Confirm all three details before paying.
The app interface can provide a second check after installation, but it doesn’t replace verification before purchase. The two images below are official App Store screenshots showing Home and Add Server. The English labels indicate where to find controls. App updates, device size, or language settings may change the layout slightly, so every pixel doesn’t need to match.
In Home, Not Connected means the app isn’t connected; it doesn’t indicate an installation failure. Use Add Server to add existing server details and Global Routing to choose a routing mode. You still need to configure the app yourself after purchase. The SERVER group in the screenshot doesn’t mean a connection service is included with the app.
Buy, install, and open Shadowrocket on iPhone
On iPhone, open the App Store product page using the main button on this page. Verify the three product details, then check the price and compatibility. Always refer to the App Store listing for system requirements. If your device is reported as incompatible, check the listing’s compatibility section rather than relying on older system requirements quoted elsewhere.
- Confirm that Media & Purchases uses the Apple ID you want to keep the purchase under, and check the currency and amount shown in the store.
- Confirm payment through the App Store purchase flow, using the authentication method required by your device.
- Wait for the app to finish installing, then open Shadowrocket from the Home Screen. If the store still shows the download as waiting or paused, resolve the download status instead of purchasing again.
- After opening Home, import your own subscription or add server details, then configure the connection. For step-by-step instructions, see Getting Started.
VPN configuration permission on first connection
The first time you try to connect, the system may ask permission to let Shadowrocket add a VPN configuration. This device-level permission is needed to establish the app’s network connection; it isn’t a payment step or another purchase. Confirm that Shadowrocket initiated the request, then review the system prompt and decide whether to allow it. You may be asked for your device passcode or another form of authentication.
Granting permission doesn’t guarantee a successful connection. Your own server address, port, protocol settings, and subscription status must also be correct. If you don’t allow permission, the corresponding connection usually can’t be established. When you try again later, follow the system’s prompts; you don’t need to delete the app first.
After installation, keep the default interface and follow the guide to complete the full process: import, select, connect, and verify. Connectivity Test results are separate from payment status: the test can help check a connection, but it can’t confirm whether an App Store order went through. Check purchases in your App Store account and troubleshoot connection issues separately using your existing configuration.
Install on iPad and check device compatibility
A single purchase with the same Apple ID can be used to install Shadowrocket on both an iPhone and an iPad, provided each device meets the requirements. If you purchased it on iPhone, first confirm the purchasing account in the iPad’s App Store, then check Purchased. Refer to the App Store listing for system requirements and universal purchase eligibility. If you see a price instead of a redownload option, check the account before confirming payment again.
The wider iPad screen may change the position of lists, editing areas, and popovers compared with iPhone. Use interface labels such as Home, Add Server, Config, and Settings to find controls rather than relying on their exact positions in a phone screenshot. Layout may also change between portrait and landscape, but the basic requirement to check server settings remains the same.
Check purchase eligibility and personal configuration separately
A purchase lets you obtain the app; it doesn’t guarantee that your personal configuration will appear on another device. After installation, check the SERVER list, selected configuration, and existing subscriptions. If you need to import your information again, use your own subscription or server details. Keep subscription links, QR codes, and passwords private when sharing information.
If your iPad already has an old configuration, check which one is active before importing new details to avoid duplicate entries with similar names but different settings. After importing, check Global Routing again. Configuration mode is Config, proxy mode is Proxy, and direct mode is Direct. Don’t assume a configuration is active on this device just because it’s active on another one.
Restore purchases after changing or reinstalling a device
If you’ve purchased Shadowrocket, changing devices or reinstalling it usually doesn’t require another payment. The key is to use the original purchasing Apple ID to find the purchase record, not just to confirm that the device is signed in to your usual account. Before restoring, check the Media & Purchases account on your old device and keep your own configuration details safe.
- On the new device, open the App Store, tap the account icon in the top-right corner, and confirm the current purchasing account.
- Open Purchased and look for Shadowrocket. Depending on the system version, this option may appear under Apps or in the account’s purchase list.
- Once you find the original purchase, use the redownload option to restore the app. Open it after installation finishes.
- Check the configuration on this device. If needed, import your own subscription or server details again, then verify the selected item and connection permission.
If you see a price, check your purchase history first
If you expect to have already purchased the app but the product page shows a price again, don’t rush to place another order. First check the current Apple ID, the app associated with the original order, and whether the account’s region has changed. Purchase history helps identify which account owns the order. Seeing the app icon on the Home Screen in the past doesn’t confirm that the current account has the purchase.
If you can’t find the app under Purchased, check whether purchases are hidden and review the relevant records on your account page. If the App Store says the transaction is incomplete or asks you to verify payment details, use that message to guide your next step. An in-app subscription update failure isn’t the same as a purchase restoration problem; the records and steps for handling them are different.
Restoring the app doesn’t restore all of your setup
The purchase record determines your eligibility to get the app; your personal configuration is what enables a connection. Before deleting the app, make sure you’ve safely backed up any server details, configuration files, and subscription links you want to keep. Don’t assume reinstalling will automatically restore every entry. After reinstalling, check your details, grant permission again if needed, and verify the connection to avoid mistaking an unconfigured app for a product issue.
Check the current App Store listing and Family Sharing prompts to see whether Family Sharing applies. Don’t confuse restoring your own purchase with a family member’s eligibility to get the app. Refer to the App Store listing for support and any restrictions. Keeping clear purchase records is more useful for troubleshooting restoration than repeatedly switching accounts.
Pricing, one-time purchase, and what’s included
Shadowrocket is a closed-source commercial app with a one-time purchase; the app itself has no monthly fee. The US storefront reference price is $2.99; other storefronts show local currency. The final amount is shown on the App Store purchase confirmation screen. Prices, taxes, and payment requirements vary by storefront, so the US reference price isn’t a fixed charge for every account.
Once you understand the difference, handle purchase and setup separately: verify the product in the right storefront, make the one-time purchase, then add your own details in the app. After a successful purchase, Home may still show Not Connected, or SERVER may have no available entries. That doesn’t mean you need to pay for the app again.
Check the validity period, data allowance, and server status of your existing connection service using your own service details; these aren’t part of the App Store app purchase record. Updating a subscription doesn’t change whether you’ve purchased the app, and redownloading the app doesn’t extend an existing service’s validity. Keep these records separate when troubleshooting to avoid repeating steps in the wrong place.
Updates and follow-up checks
App updates are delivered through the App Store. For current feature details, system requirements, or update information, check the store listing rather than relying on older saved screenshots to infer how the current version behaves. This manual doesn’t list version numbers or update dates that can quickly become outdated. Refer to the App Store listing for whether your device can still install or update the app.
After purchasing and installing the app, continue with Getting Started to import your existing details, choose Global Routing, connect, and verify. For help organizing multiple existing subscriptions, filling in Add Server fields, or planning backups, see Subscription and Server Management. These sections cover using the app; they don’t replace store purchase or account verification.
Purchase and installation FAQs
Check the actual App Store message first, then decide whether to look at your account, device, or app configuration.
Why can’t I find Shadowrocket on the App Store?
Shadowrocket isn’t available in the mainland China App Store. Check your store region under “Settings → Apple ID → Media & Purchases → View Account → Country/Region,” then review age restrictions and account status. The us in the product page URL doesn’t change your account’s region. Availability depends on the App Store page shown to your account.
What if the product page opens but I can’t complete the purchase or download?
Note the exact App Store message, then check your account region, payment status, available device storage, network connection, and the listing’s compatibility information. If you’ve already paid, check your purchase history and purchased items instead of submitting the order again. Purchase issues and in-app connection issues are separate and should be troubleshot separately.
Do I have to pay again when I change devices or reinstall Shadowrocket?
Use the Apple ID you originally purchased with. Find Shadowrocket under “App Store → Account → Purchased” to download it again; you generally won’t need to pay again. If a price appears, check the purchasing account and purchase history. After restoring the app, import your own subscription or server details.
Can I install Shadowrocket on my iPad if I bought it on my iPhone?
A single purchase with the same Apple ID can be used to install Shadowrocket on both an iPhone and an iPad, provided each device meets the requirements. Find Shadowrocket in the iPad’s App Store purchase history. Refer to the App Store listing for system requirements and universal purchase eligibility; check separately whether your configuration has been restored.
Can I install Shadowrocket on Mac, Apple TV, or Apple Vision?
The compatibility section of the same App Store listing includes Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision. Open the listing in the App Store on your target device. Compatibility, system requirements, and universal purchase eligibility are determined by the App Store listing.
Where should I start if the app opens in English?
Check the developer, official icon, and app ID; the interface language alone doesn’t establish whether it’s genuine. Home is the main entry point, Add Server is for adding existing server details, and Global Routing is for choosing a routing mode. This manual keeps these interface labels in English; follow Getting Started step by step.
